In living with Allen's recent death, I told a close friend that I was putting together a few photographs. She thought it might be a good idea as she felt comforted by recalling Allen's face. I come back to these photos - recalling the edges of the frames- the days. I first met Allen when we were young and fearless in 1967. I miss him. His was the Real Work and remains to be done. I want to promise him- We'll take it from here...
This shot was used on a poster for one of Allen's readings in Brighton UK- The caption: 'But come on, George. An eye for and eye makes the whole word blind.' That's Richard Balciunas against the wall, in North Beach.
